    Brother/Sister program- A community-based mentoring program that matches area youth (aged 6-14) with adult volunteer mentors who commit to a relationship of at least 2-3 hours a week for 9 months.

    ·         The Brother/Sister Program was able to facilitate 173 matches in the Greater Mankato area and provide youth with positive adult role models

    ·         In 2009, 34 youth on the waiting list for matches were able to participate in group mentoring once a week

    .

    Chesley Roller Sports Park- Provides a safe, family friendly, structured environment for youth to engage in alternative sports and physical activity.  It is a structured environment for skateboarding, in-line skating and BMX biking. 

    ·         The park was able to serve 3,394 youth in a safe, friendly, structured environment

    ·         200 children participated in skate park events that encouraged youth fellowship, positive interaction with peers, and healthy competition

    Financial Assistance for Memberships- Makes the YMCA a place where everyone is welcomed, regardless of their financial situation.

    ·         The number of participants receiving financial assistance has increased 24% in the past year

    ·         With help from the United Way, the YMCA provided 2,493 membership scholarships in 2009
